Nextracker is a billion-dollar solar-tracking company whose technology moves solar panels to follow the sun. For five years, when its marketing needed video, it came to one chair: mine.

The challenge

I worked directly with Nextracker’s SVP of Global Marketing, who reported straight to the CEO — no agency in between, and no margin for the brand to wobble. Scripts arrived written before the shoot and rewritten after the footage came in. Field footage landed in big dumps. Launches didn’t move. And every cut had to reconcile cross-functional feedback — a lot of different thinking pulled together into one coherent piece — at advertising speed.

The craft

Editorial, motion graphics, and audio in one person, which is what actually keeps a brand voice consistent across five years of varied work. When the script changed after the shoot, I adapted the cut from the footage on hand instead of scheduling a re-shoot. When a launch compressed the timeline, there was no handoff chain to slow it down.

The outcome

Nextracker’s video carried one voice across social, trade shows, and on-the-ground sales — material that sold its tracking technology to solar markets region by region, worldwide. Five years on, the relationship is still running. That’s what clients hire a senior principal for.
